Appeal Board of Adjustments

Meetings: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers
Duties:
The Board has the power to issue special property use permits and the right to determine suitability of alternate new materials/types of construction after conducting a public hearing. They may authorize granting of variances from the zoning ordinance of the City where compliance is impractical or impossible. They may also review any interpretation of the provisions of Title 16 or 19 of the Longview Municipal Code made by the building official, and any order, requirement or decision made by the building official in the application of the specific title provision to any parcel of land and/or structure.
What they accomplish:
May affirm or reverse the interpretation made by the building official and grant variances and special property use permits. The Boards decision shall be based upon the records and evidence in each case.
