Fire Support Services

Battalion Chief Ralph Burgoyne oversees and direct the Support Services Section. 

BC Burgoyne has been with the Longview Fire Department since 1979.  He was hired as a line firefighter. After eight years as a firefighter he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1987.  Then in 1991, he advanced to the position of Captain.

In 1992, BC Burgoyne was again promoted with the creation of a new position within the department to Battalion Chief. He has the most seniority among the rank of Battalion Chief. His knowledge and history of the department has been the cornerstone of the administration during the merger and de-merger of Longview Fire Department and Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue between chiefs.
