Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course Fees

The following fees and charges and other conditions are hereby established for use of the Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course:

Section 1. Annual Golf Pass.

*Couple may include a husband and wife or a parent and child who is a full-time college student.

Conditions of annual golf passes:

(a) The effective dates for annual golf passes shall be from April 1 of the year for which said annual golf pass is purchased, through March 31 of the following year.

(b) Junior annual golf passes are available to persons who are less than 18 years of age on April 1 of the year in which such pass becomes effective, and shall be valid for a full year even though the holder of such pass attains age 18 during the term thereof. The holder of a junior annual golf pass shall be entitled to use of the Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course at any time on weekdays (other than holidays), and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 2:00 p.m.

(c) Senior annual golf passes are available to individuals who are 62 years of age or older on April 1 of the year in which such pass becomes effective, and to married couples, both of whom are 62 years of age or older on April 1 of the year such pass becomes effective. The holder of a senior annual golf pass shall be entitled to use of the Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course at any time on weekdays (other than holidays), and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 2:00 p.m.

(d) Purchase of an annual pass does not entitle the purchaser to any membership in the Mint Valley Golf Course, nor do any additional privileges accrue to the purchaser thereof. Persons purchasing an annual golf course pass will be required to make advanced starting time reservations as specified by the Golf Professional. The adult nonrestricted annual golf pass fee shall also cover the green fee for locally sponsored tournaments open to the public with the possible exception of the Columbia Ford and Best Ball Tournaments. Annual passes are not transferable and are payable in advance. The purchase price for annual passes are not refundable, except under extreme circumstances and with department and City Manager concurrence. Any abuse, obvious deception or false information in obtaining or using an annual pass shall render the annual pass immediately invalid without refund. All applications for annual passes shall be on forms as provided by the Golf Professional.

Section 2. Junior Summer Golf Pass. A junior summer golf pass is available for individuals under the age of 18 years. The terms, conditions and fee for such junior summer golf pass is as follows:

(b) Junior summer golf passes are available to persons who are less than 18 years of age on June 1 of the year in which such pass becomes effective, and shall be valid from June 1 until August 31 of the same year. The holder of a junior summer golf pass shall be entitled to use of the Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course at any time on weekdays (other than holidays) and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 2:00 p.m.

Section 3. Rates for Use of Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course.

Section 5. Privately Owned Power Golf Carts and Storage Rental. The annual fee for use of a privately owned power golf cart is the sum of $171.93 + $13.07 tax = $185.00. The fee for use of a privately owned power golf cart on a daily basis is $4.65 + $0.35 tax = $5.00 for each 9 holes of play.

The annual fee for privately owned cart storage is the sum of $195.00 + $24.96 tax plus $185.00 trail fee for a total of $404.96.

Section 6. Adjustment of Daily Rates and Issuance of Winter Passes. By establishing these daily fee rates, it in no way excludes the opportunity to make adjustments for promotions, coupons or other discount programs designed to increase play. Also, in order to continue use of the Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course during the winter months on a basis which is comparable with privately operated golf courses within the Southwest Washington area, the Director of Parks and Recreation, upon recommendation of the Golf Professional, shall have the authority to reduce all rates between November 1 of each year and March 31 of the following year, and to issue passes enabling daily play during said time period at a reduced rate.

Section 7. School and College Team Rates. Golf sports teams representing and directed by public schools and colleges in the City of Longview shall be entitled to use of the Mint Valley Golf Course for a fee of $111.52 + $8.48 tax = $120.00, per team, per school academic quarter; provided, that the golf professional and the Director of Parks and Recreation shall have the right to limit and control play by such teams and team members in order to grant priority to players holding passes or paying daily fees.
