Funding Applications Available through the City of Longview’s 2013-2014 Budget Process

The City of Longview is taking applications for the funding of programs, events, and projects that will be considered during development of the 2013-2014 budget, including those applications that support or maintain tourism in Longview.  The deadline for submitting an application is 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012.

An application may be requested at the Executive Office on second floor of Longview City Hall, or by calling 442.5004.  In addition, an electronic version can be obtained from the City’s website at www.mylongview.com.  Completed applications must be mailed to the City of Longview, PO Box 128, Longview, WA 98632, or hand-delivered to the Executive Office on the second floor of City Hall, 1525 Broadway.

Requests for outside agency funding are normally made during the budget process.  Included in the Request for Funding packet is an informational sheet to clarify the process utilized for outside agency requests.  It consists of the method for submitting a request, what happens after Council consideration of the application, and the manner by which an agency may receive the funds.

The request for funding application should clearly state the amount of support needed for each year of the biennial budget on the application (example:  $2,000 in the year 2013 and $2,000 for the year 2014).  All requests for funding will be evaluated according to availability of funds.  Any request that meets the criteria for tourism funds will then be prioritized according to its benefit to citizens of Longview most directly, its meeting the human needs of the people as a whole, and its promotion of Longview.

Successful applicants will be notified in writing if they are selected to receive tourism funds.
