Generosity of City employees

More City of Longview employees have pledged more support for local health and human service agencies through United Way of Cowlitz County in 2009 compared to 2008. The total amount pledged through payroll deductions has grown from $5,300 in 2008 to $11,600 in 2009. City Manager Bob Gregory notes that that is especially gratifying to see in challenging economic times. He also points out that this is just one measurable way in which City employees give back to their community; they also contribute personal time and money in countless other ways throughout the year.
