    Teen Bash Birthday Party Package

    Let us help you with your teen’s next birthday party! Parties are held on Saturdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Boulevard Teen Center, 2121 Kessler Blvd on Lake Sacajawea. Please call to reserve the date at least two weeks in advance. The nonrefundable fee is due at the time the party is scheduled. Call 442-5400 to schedule your party today!

    The Boulevard

    The Boulevard is a safe, supervised, drug, tobacco, and alcohol free drop-in program for Longview Middle and High School Teens that offers pool tables, foosball, air hockey, x-box, secure high-speed internet accessible computer lab, movies, snacks, and much more! A fun activity is planned each day. Student I.D. required.

    Overnight Lock-in

    Enjoy a Mid-Summer’s Night with us!! You will start your night by attending the Teen Late Night Dance at the YMCA. Lock-in participants will get some VIP treatment at the dance. After the Dance Ends at 12:15, Recreation Staff will bus participants to the Elks Building for numerous activities, games, movies, prizes, and a whole lot of fun. Bring comfy clothes, a pillow, and sleeping bag. Space is limited.

    Late Night

    Do you find yourself saying that there is nothing to do on Friday nights? We have the answer. Come down and be part of the excitement. The Late Night Program at the YMCA provides a safe, drug, tobacco, and alcohol free environment where there is a multitude of recreational opportunities available FREE for Longview Middle and High School teens! Our fully staffed activities facilitate positive social interaction. Event includes basketball, Dodgeball, swimming, racquetball, movies, and pizza. CURRENT STUDENT I.D. Required!!

    Leadership & Day Camps

    Youth Leadership Academy

    Youth Leadership Academy is a unique opportunity for young people, grades 10- 12, to connect with their community and other teens in a relaxed and fun setting. Students will learn skills in; Personal Goal Setting, Effective Communication, Working as a Team, How to Resolve Confl ict, and Etiquette in Social and Workplace Settings. .5 credit earned by completing academy.     Junior Leadership Program

    Junior Leadership Program is a great opportunity for Longview Middle and High School teens to gain quality skills and experience. The program includes an orientation and training, then placement in a leadership role at a recreation program and/or community project. Junior leaders are also required to attend bi-monthly meetings where they will help develop and implement service learning projects within the community. Applications can be picked up at the Recreation

    Summer Adventure Teen Camp

    Calling all 11-16 year olds!!! Break your norm and begin the summer with a bang! The camp staff will be taking you on a different adventure each week! Canoeing, hiking, water games, and a weekly trip are just some of the fun we will be having. Our base camp will be at the Elks Building on Lake Sacajawea. Teens need to bring a sack lunch and snacks daily (a water bottle and a backpack are recommended). Space is limited so don’t let this chance to have fun this summer, slip by.

    Babysitters Training

    American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training gives 11-15 year olds the skills and confidence they need to become great babysitters. This 7 hour class covers training in care giving, decision making, safety and fi rst aid skills, as we’re preventing and responding to emergencies. Course participants receive ‘The Babysitter’s Training Handbook,’ which provides course review and 30 easyto- follow fi rst aid action plans for handling emergencies.

    RC Car Club

    This class is for teen radio control car enthusiasts of all skill levels. Come be a part of this new mildly competitive club. Take part in meetings, workshops, and running your mini hot rod against others that share the same interests. Future races and events to be determined by club members.

    Indoor Tennis Lessons

    Lessons will emphasize the fundamentals of the basic strokes and footwork. We will cover the forehand, backhand, serve & volley. Lessons will help develop hand-eye coordination, and improve muscle coordination. For beginners, the simplicity of the strokes we teach will give you ball control and the ability to play immediately.

    Babysitter’s Bootcamp

    This class is for those who will be caring for small children, especially for those who are beginning their career in babysitting. The 3 day camp focuses on leadership, decision making, CPR training, and hands on practice with mannequins. The program will increase your child-care skills and your knowledge of safety procedures and accident prevention in the home. Each
    participant will be given a babysitter’s training handbook and CPR book along with their certifi cation in babysitter’s training and infant and child CPR upon successful completion of the course.

    Media Smart

    Media-Smart Youth, Eat, Think, and Be Active! is an interactive after-school education program that helps young people ages 11 -14 understand the complex media world around them, and how it can infl uence their health– especially in regard to nutrition and physical activity. The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), part of the National Institute
    of Health within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, created Media-Smart Youth to empower young people to think critically about media and make thoughtful decisions about nutrition and physical activity.

    Wild Waves

    Sign up to have fun in the sun at Wild Waves in Federal Way, Washington. This trip includes water slides and pools. Don’t forget to bring lunch money, a swimsuit, towel & sunscreen. Fee includes park entrance fee, staffing, and transportation.
