June 13 City Council Meeting in brief

  • Held a public hearing to consider the City’s Six Year Transportation Improvement Program and Transit Program of Projects.
  • Approved Resolution No. 2300 adopting the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program and Transit Program of Projects.
  • Held a public hearing to consider 2019 Community Development Block Grant applications and allocated funds as follows:
  • $16,000 to Community House on Broadway for Tenant Based Rental Assistance administration
  • $50,000 to Community House on Broadway for commercial rehabilitation for a non-profit social service center
  • $90,000 to Lower Columbia CAP for housing rehabilitation
  • $32,728 to Longview Parks and Recreation for Victoria Freeman Park playground replacement
  • $25,000 to Lower Columbia CAP for a pilot gleaning program and fresh produce supplemental program
  • $22,182 to Longview Super Summers affordable child care program
  • $15,727 to Longview for an update to the Longview-Kelso Consolidated Housing Plan for 2019-2023
  • Held a public hearing to consider 2019 Home Program applications and allocated funds as follows:
  • $62,103 to Community House on Broadway for the TBRA program
  • $45,000 to Lower Columbia CAP
  • $55,500 to Foundation for the Challenged
  • Approved Lower Columbia CAP as the recipient for the Consortium Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) set-aside and operating funds
  • Held a public hearing to consider 2019 Document Recording Fee Program applications and allocated funds as follows:
  • $12,50 to Emergency Support Shelter
  • $5,000 to Housing Opportunities of Southwest Washington and Janus Youth Services
  • $16,050 to Community House on Broadway
  • Appointed Jeanne Daggett to the Accessibility Advisory Committee.
  • The mayor appointed Tracy Wood to the Housing Opportunities of SW Washington board.
  • Presented Councilor MaryAlice Wallis with the Association of Washington Cities Certificate of Municipal Leadership.
  • Appointed Councilor Wallis and City Manager Sacha as the City’s delegates to the Association of Washington Cities conference later this month.
  • Approved Resolution No. 2301 authorizing an interlocal agreement with Region 4 Education Service Center for cooperative purchasing.
  • Approved Resolution No. 2302 authorizing an interlocal agreement with the City of Kelso to continue a reciprocal library borrowing program.
  • Approved Resolution No. 2303 authorizing an interlocal agreement with Jefferson County for cooperative purchasing.
  • Accepted as complete the Shay Locomotive Sidewalks project.
  • Cancelled the June 27 city council meeting.
