Longview Fire Open House

October 6 through 12 is Fire Prevention Week. Learn more about fire safety and have tons of fun at this year’s open house on Saturday, October 12 at Longview Fire Department’s main station at 740 Commerce Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Family-fun activities include fire safety demonstrations, firefighting equipment displays, automobile extrication demonstration, antique fire engine, public safety agency booths, Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog, junior firefighter hose challenge, button making, Life-Flight helicopter landing, and a drone presentation by Cowlitz County DEM. hotdogs and cookies will be served.

This year’s national theme Not every hero wears a cape. Plan and Practice you Escape! This reminds us that there are three basic but essential steps to take to reduce the likelihood of having a fire, and how to escape safely in the event of one.
