Counties, Cities, Public Health and Safety, and Emergency Services entities throughout Cowlitz County have joined to activate an Incident Management Team (IMT) in order to better coordinate the local response to the COVID-19 pandemic. An IMT provides incident management support during incidents or events that exceed an individual jurisdiction’s or agency’s capability or capacity. Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue Chief Dave LaFave has been designated as the Incident Commander and the team will operate under the National Incident Management’s Incident Command Structure. The IMT has established a Joint Information Center (JIC) through which press releases and relevant information and updates will be released to the community.
A new, dedicated COVID-19 webpage has been created: www.cowlitzcovid19.org.
The Cowlitz Covid-19 Incident Management Team has established a hotline for the community to get information: 1-888-683-8676. There are several options to choose from for various information and resources. The line is recorded in both English and Spanish. (Press Release #008)
Additionally, the County is using social media to push the COVID-19 press releases and other information. We are sharing this information on all of our City of Longview social media pages as well.
