On May 4, 2020, the Longview Police Department responded to a residence for the report of a possible “overdose”. Upon arrival officers discovered 31 year old Johnathon L Williams had injected his two-year old child with “Vivitrol” (a prescription drug used to treat opioid and alcohol addiction). Williams stated he initially gave the child the injection because he thought he was showing signs of COVID, however Williams later disclosed he injected his child because he believed the child ingested methamphetamine through a pipe that was later seized as evidence.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence and officers located the methamphetamine and a pipe as well as other evidence to include the syringe used for the injection. Williams was arrested and booked in the Cowlitz County jail on the charges of VUCSA (methamphetamine possession) and endangerment with a controlled substance. The child was taken to the local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
