HISTORIC PRESERVATION MONTH           
PHOTO CONTEST

The City of Longview’s Historic Preservation Commission invites you to participate in the Historic Preservation Month photo contest. Celebrate our shared historic heritage by taking your best photo, and submitting it and your entry form for a chance to see your photo displayed in a City building, or on the website or Facebook page! Winners will also receive a certificate, and their photo mounted on foam core.

One winner and two honorable mentions will be chosen from each of three divisions: Elementary school (K-5), middle/high school (6-12), and adult.

The winners’ photos will:

  • Show a historic place - building, park, bridge, or monument - within the city limits of Longview (historic place is a feature 50 years or older) 
  • Be recent (taken within the last year)
  • Demonstrate good basic photography skills of composition, lighting, etc
  • Be original and creative

The fine print: One entry per photographer. Amateur photographers only. 10MB maximum file size; .jpg or .png file types only. Basic editing allowed, but heavy use of editing software is discouraged. Minors must have parent/guardian permission to enter. Use best judgment on getting permission from private property owner before taking photographs. No identifiable people or pets. HPC members may enter but not win.
